Just a quick note - if you need an iPhone app built, consulting services are available here: http://www.hanchorllc.com and if by chance you'll be at WWDC next week, track me down!

Recently, I've started to plan the next major version of Vegas Mate, probably 2.0. The list of potential features includes stuff I've dreamed up, requests from customers and results of many a pow-wow with some of my regular co-conspirators.

To make things more interesting, Apple recently revealed some of the capabilities they will be adding to the iPhone platform sometime this Summer when their latest software is released. I've been working with the new tech and a lot of it is going into Vegas Mate - the early test versions are showing a lot of promise.

The top of every feature list always includes the same thing: more content. The next big release should not only beef up the existing content but also introduce some new stuff - specifically more details on shopping, restaurant menus, better maps, golf and current Las Vegas events are common requests.

No release date has been set but the software will require iPhoneOS 3.0 so that means it will be 'Summer' at the earliest. In the meantime, new versions of Vegas Mate 1.x will continue, including both new content and some smaller features. Version 1.5.2 is in the approval queue at Apple now with a bunch of small updates.

As always, Vegas Mate updates are FREE for all existing customers.

This new version, free for existing users, includes several new features:

* Ability to filter restaurants by cuisine or cost.
* Group 'Expert Help' by category.
* Drastically increased amount of 'Expert Help'.
* Several user interface enhancements.
* Tons of great new Vegas content.

If you're not already a Vegas Mate user, it's available in the App Store here.
I am wrapping up development on Vegas Mate 1.5.

The new version includes the ability to filter restaurants by cost or cuisine, a long requested feature. It also includes some changes to the user interface, the ability to send us suggestions for corrections if you find something that's changed and a bunch of new expert help.

As with all releases, there is new content for many of the hotels and restaurants.

I'm hoping to get it submitted to Apple for review in the next week or so.
